im curious to when a front pump in a atx tranny goes bad… [mines whinning like a bitch but drives perfect] how long is an average time span… before it lets loose… one more question… ANYONE EVER REPLACE A FRONT PUMP IN TRANNY ? i ---

I know trannys pretty well. How positive are you that its the pump? If it is all I can say is your on borrowed time. As far as changing in goes, remove tranny. Remove 6 bolts holding pump on tranny. Use a slide hammer and a bold to get pump out. Then put new pump in. Replace tranny 🙂 ---

ya, a whine could be more than the pump…maybe input/output bearings or something. ---

its horrid… i like the truck… buts its so annoying basically it sounds like a power steering pump about to blow!!! ---
