# Anyone know about digital cameras?

I want to buy a digital camera, but don’t know that much about them. I think that I want 4mp and definately some type of optical zoom, but other than that I dont’ know that much. I figure that I really can’t go wrong with any of the big names, but any insight would be appreciated.
BTW I was thinking somewhere in the $175-250 range.

you will not get a 4 mp camera for 150-250…
Also what do you want to primarily use it for? Internet stuff only? Actually print out pictures?
Car shows, family, sporting events, nature, all around?

I have found the Kodak CX7430 which is 4MP for as little as $164.95 (froogle is great).
I plan on using it for vacations, got one planned for may that I want it for, as well as other general use like you mentioned. I know that someone may say that 4MP is overkill, but it seems like 3MP is just on the verge of low tech, so I would hate to spend money that will soon be outdated.

goto Ritz camera and try out all of the models, then go online and buy the one you like for $100 less.

yes ritz has a large selection.
Also I can guarentee that the one you looked at only has a x2 or x3 octical zoom. Forget about digital zoom. that is a whole different ball game. what you want for clear pictures is a distace you can be happy with is a optical zoom, and have it at least at x4 to x6 for general applications. also check and see what the fetures are.
I personally like canon, and my Fugi digital seems to be holding up good and I get some decent pictures.

The sony ones seem nice, but a little bit more expensive than Kodak. Do they have more features?
