UPDATE: got the pipe made, anyone around here have a bead roller. i know mike has one, but hes not in the shop today ---

i have welded beads before and it worked. Just grind it down nicely afterwards. ---

best way to weld a bead on is to get some stainless steel rod and tack it into place at 6 or 8 places around the tubing it looks neat, takes little work, and provides ZERO “ramp” surface for the coupler to ride up and off. instead the rod indents the coupler and locks into place ---
