# Anyone set up a Blackberry Enterprise Server?

Exchange

We currently have a 3.6.2 server

I am building a server next to it (redundacy). Currently it’s 3.6.3.

Looking to go up to 4.0.3.

I want as little downtime as possible.

Ever done this? I have a feeling 2 BES services running at the same time = insta death

i’ve never done it myself. you’re probably right about insta death though. i called one of our blackberry gurus at work and left him a voicemail about it. i’ll let you know what he says. you’re going to have a hard time finding support on it though because the latest info i found on blackberry’s support site was 4.0.2.

EDIT: i did read that with certain security patches depending on what service pack you have, there are some issues with emails coming in batches. i’m not sure if the problem continued with 4.0.3. i know it was an issue on 4.0.2.

call them… i had to once and they are good with customer service…

ya and two bbs’s are pro not a good idea… they would fight over everything… it think

edit

yo jsut set it up so you have a “warm” setup/… it will be ready to go and turned on, but you need to flip the switch (change settings in exchange)
