Ditto. Inline 6’s and V6’s sound beautiful, I love the rumble of an I6.

They got a pretty deep tone than many other 4’s out there, sometimes they sound like Subaru engines!! lol

^ Hey so do SRs… When they’re running on 3 cylinders… 😛

I find SRs actually have a fairly deep tone as well, for a 4 banger, that was through a tubular header and a 3" turbo back, no cat. I had 2 pretty big resonators though, so that played a role.

Mark, you’re so wrong. Rasp is awesome and popping…love the sound of efficient scavenging (or retardedly rich tune).

Don’t even get me started on 1st-2nd low-rpm-blow-off-valve purge.

As said above, V8’s win hands down for sound. I don’t know why they have this perfect throaty resonance…never looked it up. A friend was talking about multiples of 4 cylinders not including I4’s having some sort of mathematical resonance. That would include V8’s, and even V12’s according to his logic.

I’ll look it up when I get my car running again. lol

I don’t know if anyone remembers when I had a KA but the exhaust on my KA was loud as hell !!! But it sounded awesome, it was a good loud!

KA24E with HOTSHOT performance header, “3” straight pipe to the back no cat, no resinator with a dual port MAGNAFLOW muffler, it sounded soooooooooo sweet! But way to loud at over 120km’s, I could barely hear the person next to me speak…sometimes that was a good thing depending on who was siting next to me LOL.!

The exhaust on my SR is silent and I don’t even have a cat just a resinator, it only makes a lot of noise at high RPM’s now I just hear the sweet sound of my GT2871 spooling!!! Sooooooooooo sweet!!!

Honestly man… I love turbo cars, perfect example is RR32GTRR’s gts-t, he had it running at the meet and I couldn’t even hear it, 3" front to back exhaust, when hes driving all you hear is the turbo spool. Turbo cars at idle are 100% quieter but under boost, a turbo car screams.

my neighbor has a stock SRT-4. hes a cop and hes coming and going at all hours of the night. whenever he passes my house its like a facking jet flying through my room, it wakes me up. and still, bone stock.

^^ I would be willing to bet that it’s not completely stock though. I had an SRT4 before i bought my Rx7. They’re pretty quiet when they’re stock, but there were very very few of them that were completely stock. Even just an upgrade to the stage 1 mopar computer will result in a lot more snaps and pops, even with stock exhaust. It has to do with fueling on decel, i believe, and it’s intentional just for the sound. Get rid of the stock airbox, and the intake gets stupid loud too.

Mine had a cutout downpipe… .open that up at the lights, and things get ugly pretty quickly 😃

ok so i know know that sr’s are MUCH quieter then ka’s.

had an apexi n1 dual on my ka, and to be honest it was uncomfortably loud even at idle.

i JUST threw the same exhaust on my sr and its whisper quiet. so i just got the resonator taken off making it into a straight pipe with 2 tips, and its STILL quiet while cruising. but once you start to hit boost it just screams. im so happy! woo!
