Who has a motorcycle here…😃 I just sold my 240 and picked up a newer 4x4 for a daily, its slow and boring unless your offroad… The plan was to keep that while i build another 240 next fall/winter. All of a sudden though, some bikes have caught my eye:cool: Anyways who has experience with bikes… How bad is insurance on a 600 for a 19 yr old male, G license, Clean title. Ill be phoning insurance tomorrow anyways. If its to high ill just forget about it and build another 15 yr old car lol. Looking around kijiji and i see a bunch of 600’s going for $4000 to $5500. mostly CBR’s and YZF’s. Are they a fair bit cheaper now because its winter? Any input is cool… ---

I dont think its that high actually compared to a 240, but the bitch of it is its a 12 month policy, when you only ride it for 5. ---

Once you hit 600ccs or higher, your insurance rate will likely be ridiculous. Also, if the bike model has an R in it (gsxr, cbr, yzr, etc.) your insurance rate will likely be ridiculous. The way to avoid it is to keep your ccs as close to 600 without hitting it. If this is your first bike, I’d recommend staying away from 600 anyway. Learn on something that’s easier to handle. ---

400/Month?? :wtf: I Phone my insurance yesterday though, dejardines wont even insure 600’s lol. O well there goes getting a bike. Although iim going to see if they insure a yamaha FZ6. I heard there cheaper on insuracnce, there not quite a crotch rocket and not a full touring i think they call it sport touring. Maybe ill have better luck. ---

I have owned several bikes over the years first real bike was a 99 GSXR750 when I was 16. Paid $160 amonth full coverage a year later I purchased a 00 R6 had that one for 2 weeks paid $120month then bought a 99 CBR600 paid $66.00 a month for insurance with that. I have a clean record and progressed through the licensing. My suggestion switch all your insurance over to State Farm. They insure bikes primarily on CC’s not type (ie sport, cruiser etc). I had 3 things with them my car 87 cutlass big block, my bike and life insurance in total it was around the $250 for all three this was also while I was under 25. As for bike selection a good beginner bike is the CBR600 it is very forgiving to mistakes. It also has the most comfortable riding position I found for myself at 6’ tall. I put 20,000km a year on that bike. Gixxers have a stretched out wide riding position although the best bang for the buck I felt it uncomfortable on any rides longer than an hour. Between these two things it makes you a better rider more aware and much more confident. Riding a bike on the road is much more different then driving a car. If you panic your pretty much dead or seriously hurt. A perfect example of this is most of the time you use he gas to avoid an issue rather than the brakes. Adrian ---

Just get insurance for in case of death. A cop shouldn’t be able to pull you over. ---

i had a r6 and then a r1 if you have no tickets then go with state farm i was paying 220/month on my r1 untill i got 50 over now no more bikes for a long time lol
