Hey now that I got the tools and the know-how it definitely is easy. Hardest part is getting into tight spaces or maneuvering around stuff.

Exactly. Like I mentioned, you sometimes have to anticipate a tight fit connection and probably do it before you tuck it up into the area you want it to go.

We finally completed “Satan’s Spawn Master Bath”. We called it this because we truly believed that the stone was harvested from an ancient religious burial ground and was cursed.
We started this, and almost completed this, some time ago. I had a stone vendor (who had been flawless up until this job) COMPLETELY screwed the pooch and it got so bad, I had to limit their involvement to supplying of materials only, and we handled the install. Of all the individual pieces pictured, only two are original install, all were remade and replaced, and that’s the third countertop.
I posted some preliminary completion on this earlier. Once we got past the stone, we had about a day and a half of touch ups (due to the damage caused by the stone removal) and today was resurrection day. Only thing missing are the two custom mirrors I’m fabricating at the shop. Enjoy.
**Original conceptual drawings. The entire space was a bathroom and a walk in closet / storage room. We removed the dividing wall and added a pocket door from the connected bedroom to allow for privacy. The tub and toilet were left in their original locations. The plumbing for the sinks was actually there already as if there could’ve been an option for another sink off the bath.**

**Tall storage cabinet with custom fabricated laundry hamper / dressing seat. You can barely see it in the ceiling next to the tall cabinet but we installed a flush mount attic access hatch to replace the clumsy attempt by the original builder.**

**This is what I was dealing with. Countertop number two after ctop number one was cracked removing the 1" back and end splashes. (they were originally ordered 3/4" thick). This came out last Friday and they had to scramble to get number three installed on Saturday. I could only stand there next to them and cackle uncontrollably as the guy who made it dropped it on the opening, realized what he had done, and walked out to his truck and left without saying a word.**

**This vendor has since been removed from my list until they can prove, well beyond a shadow of a doubt, that this sort of catastrophe will NEVER happen again.**

I think this is my favorite one I’ve seen from you yet. Love the black granite, the color scheme is similar to mine. Undermount sinks look fantastic and the hardware is great too! :tup:

Thanks guys. Stone is actually Verde Butterfly so it’s a deep forest green with some black and mica accents. Layout stayed about the same as relocating plumbing in existing homes can be almost impossible. The attic access hatch also had an impact on what I could install below it. Double sinks had the feeds and drains already in that wall so it was sort of a no brainer.

The friend of mine who referred me to this customer was out there last week on work of his own and was able to snap a pic of the re-worked fireplace stone installation (reference page 1). It appears the guy had him install another product altogether, which appears to be a much easier one than mine. Would’ve liked to have seen him try to install what I had to work with. Not even tooting my own horn…I like mine better.

So, they picked the original product, didn’t like it, and then went with another person, different product?
Honestly, aside from the product change it is the same thing. Not my particular cup of tea, so I don’t really like either, but just weird that they would switch people when really it was the product/type of stone they were not happy about. In short… people are weird!

Yes, that’s correct. Unfortunately (or fortunately) he did pay me for my time and materials but I ended up paying my expenses and making nothing from a profit standpoint.

**Got into a little stone work for the print company that has handled all my print work since I started. This is the old Johnson’s Country Store on Route 20 in Hamburg and was taken over by Evenhouse Printing many years ago. Brief rundown of what was done.**
Removed one door and replaced it with a picture window. Removed the other door and replaced it with a steel framed steel door. Original doors were hammered and barely functioning.
Added decorative stone to the face and entry way to jaz up the look of the exposed faces. We are going to try to sneak in some decorative concrete at the entry way over the weekend.

Two new windows at the front. Original Andersen windows were not installed with proper flashing and water had been getting inside. Rotted the frame and the sashes started to pop. Caught it just in time. the windows look virtually identical to the old units but added some grids near the top and they certainly perform better.
