Looking to buy a new camera.
I was playing with this samsung at walmart and really liked it, It worked well and was easy to use. Would like your thoughts on it.
I’m sure its a HUGE step up from my 5.0 Megapixel Kodak Easyshare CX7530

I found a place where i can get it for around $150 brand new
And I can sell my current camera on ebay for approx $100

We have this at our store. I dont think it takes that great of pictures. Not compared to the Sony that I used to have.

They have some really nice camera’s at Sams club, as in the Canon Rebel and Nikon D40 with lens kits.

My Canon A630 does a pretty decent job for $200.
The flip out screen is cool, it has fantastic battery life and runs off regular AAs, the movie mode is almost as good as my mini DV, and the macro focus works really well. There’s a manual shooting mode, which is great if you ever want to learn to use a “big boy” camera properly. It also takes a lens converter so that you can add a tele-converter, wide angle, or filters.
It’s a bit weak in low-lighting conditions though as it can get kinda grainy, and the digital zoom sucks. This is probably typical for cameras in this price range.

yea anything is a step up from a kodak
if your looking to stay at a low price and want something fairly decent shoot for a smaller nikon or a canon…sony’s are great too but they tend to be a little more pricey(and worth it)
and before anyone says i don’t know what i’m talking about…i sold camera’s at best buy for two years

I personally have the 7.2megapixel Samsung ( forget the model# )…Got it Black Friday for like 100.00 something. I am no photographer but for the price and for just having it to take casual pics…I LOVE IT. I couldn’t be happier with it. Although, there are undoubtably many more cameras out there that could out do it.

i have a Sony CyberShot 8.1 and love it…only down fall to it is when recording video i cant zoom while its recording only b4 i start

I have a Canon Rebel SLR. I love it. My fiance got a Sony cybershot 7mp, though. Small and easy to carry around. Takes good pictures. The only thing bad is blur from shaking because you can’t hold it still. I usually use hers if we go somewhere that I don’t want to lug my bag around w/ lenses.

I got a FujiFilm FinePix V10 for about $150. Has a lot of features including manual mode (which I don’t know shit about). It’s got a nice big LCD screen and it’s still tiny, which is what I like about it.

Yes they are great cameras and the bodies can be had for cheap, its just lenses where the real money comes into play. Nothing like spending $600 for a somewhat decent telephoto, which in turn would put him spending around $1200 just for a body and a tele, no wide angle shots. Don’t forget the pictures will 9/10 need to be taken into photoshop to make the colors pop.
Dslr’s aren’t for everyone.

i worked in the cameras department at best buy for a year myself.i personally dont like sony because alot of there point and shoot cameras have issues with there pictures haveing a blue tone to them.however if the sony has a Zeiss lense then its deffinetly a decent camera.Canon makes a decent lense as well.the best color results from my experience were from the nikon and canon.i myself have a canon A520.i personally would like to move up to a 5-6 mp but money is tight so ill just settle with my 4mp.honestly it still does a decent job.i love the manual feature on the A series.gives ya a little more control but deffinetly not the same as a digital SLR.but thats just my $.02
