So yea, my GF4 Ti4600 just crapped out on me adn I need some budget AGP card.
I’m looking to spend about $100 and the only thing I can see right now in
that range is:

SAPPHIRE Radeon 9550 256M [128bit] (lite retail) $105.00
SAPPHIRE Radeon 9550 128M [64bit] (lite retail) $75.00
SAPPHIRE Radeon 9250 256M DVI/TVO $87.00
I don’t really play a whole lotta games and I use my computer to watch
movies at times on the TV in the living room (on the GF4 I had a dongle
that I hooked up to the TV using an S-Video or some shit).
The ATI 9250 w/ DVI/TVO looks good. :dunno:

I got a Radeon 9200. Works well. TV out is fine too.
If you’re not a gamer, then you dont need a 256. Most 128meg cards should be fine.

Yea that’s what I figure. Any other competitive cards I should look into?

I’m running a ti4400.
You’ll get a marginal performance increase if you go with those Radeons… anything under the 9600.
You’d be hard pressed to find a better card than the ti4600 (they even outperformed the FX5200 and 5600 when they were first introduced to replace the ti line) for $100…
I’d highly recommend saving another $40-75 and going for a decent (never go bottom of the line with vid cards, avoid things that have suffixes like LE, but “Pro” or “GT” are good ;)) card. Your money will be better spent, and will last you longer. Go for a Radeon 9600 Pro or XT, or go up to the GeForce 6600 chipset. Also like Marc said… stick with 128MB - even for games the 128s outperform the 256s in a lot of cases.

The Ti4600 was great. I think I’ve had it for a couple years and I bough
it second hand off eBay or something for like $140. The card seved me well.
Thing is, I don’t play much video games now. I just need a card capable
of running at 1600x1200 @ 72hz and has TV out.
I can’t see myself playing much games now a days so I can live with not
having to think too far ahead.
In anycase, I just decided on the card to get: :wiggle:
MSI RX9550 128MB - $83+tax @ ICCT ($95cad after tax).

It’s an oldie but a Matrox G400/450/550 will have superior TV output to any of the above mentioned cards. :dunno:
