tonight on aim while you giving me the schmeider treatment I had to block you… I wanted guldge my eyes out just listening to you it made me so goddamn anoiyed… and the people who know me on this board know I can honestly withstand alot of shit. If you had to google it or do not have first hand experience dont post about…also look at the subject of the thread. ---

i have limited knowledge of mp3 players in linux… i only really use usb transport for disks and lower level communications… so if i can’t help, have your boy xlogic build you a new os. so i guess you aren’t even getting it to mount? mount |grep -i usb comes back with what? usually you’ll get a usbdevfs on /proc/bus/usb type usbdevfs if it’s a disk device (connecting as mass storage, attempting to mount to /dev/sda?) then you can use the scsi\_info command… then you could fdisk -l it to see which /dev/ file it was mapping too… maybe insert the static mapping into /etc/fstab file? does that build revision have usbview? usbmgr command will load and unload the kernal modules for usb devices… maybe the kernal config doesn’t have usb support option selected or compiled? i’m not sure about that distro, but you may need to edit the rc config file… usbmgr.conf and load.conf (i think) will load and unload modules and include the kernal modules to load at startup… maybe i’m off base and you’re not even getting that far… so maybe it’s a scsi device id problem? it’s odd that it’s automatically dumping after a few seconds of being plugged in… let me ask some REAL linux admins… 🙂 ---
