# Audi question ???

I have been searching the Autotrader and found that the RS6 has paddle shifting but not every ad mentions this.
Was the paddle shift an option on the RS6 or was it on all of them?
(From what I have read it seems like standard equipment.)

I doubt they even offer many options on the RS6. The car was the top of the line of the A6’s and what $85k new.

:wtf: It’s an Audi. Don’t you hate it?
Anyhow, every RS6 article I’ve found (through a couple quick googles) mentions paddle shifting and nowhere does it state that it is optional. [autos.msn.com](http://autos.msn.com) only lists one transmission option. Looks like they should all have it.

Are you asking if I hate Audi or if Newman hates Audi?
I have owned 6 Audis and my family has had several other Audis.:gotme:
I am also a card carrying member of the Audi Club of America.🙂

Thats what I was thinking also. I know on the A4 and S4 but was not a 100% sure on the RS6…

Does the paddle shifter work the same as the tiptronic?
The reason I ask is because I was using the tiptronic in my dad’s ALLROAD and found it to be absolutley useless.
The car still shifted on its own when it wanted to.
I put the car in 5th gear when I hit the gas it down shifted!:bloated:
I wound the car up and it shifted before I wanted it to!:bloated:
Honestly what is the point of this system?
Why not just leave it in D if the car is going to shift on its own anyway?
If the RS6 uses this same pseudo shifting system it is hugely disappointing.
My very short experience with tiptronic makes me feel it is the biggest waste of money ever.
Why doesn’t Audi spend that money on improving the electronics of the car?
Am I missing something about this system?

It worked for me fine when I drove a tiptragic S4. You need to put it in all the way to the right where it’s +/-… But if I recall it’s not going to let you red line the piss out of it.

It just seems like a useless gimmick to me.

Something does not seem right then.I had no problems like that…
