After reading some reviews and a bit of what has been done to them in Europe, I am kind of intrigued. Anyone have some very strong reasons to buy or not buy one?

Can you share some of the info you have been reading? Also… where does this car fit in the line up?

Definately sweet but I don’t know if that would be my first choice for that kind of money. My wife’s TT was a lot of fun, it would seem the RS would just be a blast to drive though.

Sidenote: The RS5 seems kind of lame, I am surprised it got the RS badge.

i bet the TTRS is really fun. i remember recently on dubs in the buff a guy with a TTS went to some TT meet in philly and said his chipped TTS held up pretty well with a stock TTRS and that a TTRS with a tune and exhaust moved VERY well.

i also agree, i was expecting the RS5 to be a lot more badass

Pros-
look good
decent power
only way to get the awesome 5cyl turbo with 7 speed DSG in the USA
awesome interior
decently rare

Cons-
overpriced
haldex AWD - no matter how good they get it it’s still FWD with the rear kicking in
probably heavy depreciation
back seat is useless
a modded TTS will probably be just as good for a lot less money.

if you’re going to buy a new audi, get one with the new supercharged V6. It’s an awesome motor. Even better with a pulley, headers and software.

I think the blue car makes this little thing a waste of driveway space

I will have to dig them up, but it seemed pretty appealing. I was in Pittsburgh area yesterday and there were some fun twisty roads. It made me wish I brought a different car and this could be a potential dd that’s a lot of fun and might be a bit more under the radar with solid performance.

Then what would you go with in that price range that is awd for year round driving and still a lot of fun?

Good feedback. Looks like a tune really wakes it up.

I’m not interested in the s4 etc. I like something a bit more interesting. Also, pretty sure they are 6 speed manual, not dsg here which is a huge plus for me. GTR was a no go for me for this reason.

This would be more dd duty as well as a fun car for traveling etc.

Magazine racing makes is sound like a good vehicle:

> Is this TT RS the ultimate version of the VW Golf architecture? Or is it more like one-third of a Bugatti Veyron? This question popped into our heads after the TT RS hit 139.0 mph on the front straight, its five-cylinder wailing like a 1980s Quattro rally car.
>
> The TT RS is easier to drive than any 360-hp car we’ve ever experienced on a racetrack. And it put down a time only 0.2 second shy of Audi’s own V-8–powered R8. It makes you think you’re good enough to change your last name to Mikkola. Here’s what it takes: Brake hard (pedal feel is firm, and the brakes grab), turn in (steering is heavy, but the front end darts into a corner eagerly), and simply put down the power early and let the all-wheel drive sort it out. In sector one, the TT RS achieved the same peak grip as the Porsche Cayman R, but the TT RS put its power down earlier, leading to a quicker sector time and a higher exit speed. At the limit, there’s a hint of understeer, a familiar enough safety net. Lift slightly, and the front tires regain grip. Slides happen in slow motion and are easy to catch. One corner worker commented that the TT RS looked like it was sucked down onto the track as it alternated between understeer and neutrality in the off-camber corners of sector four.
>
> This Audi is graced with steering that weights up in response to the stress of the front tires in a way that reminds us of the Cayman R. The suspension shrugs off curbing, and the planted feel and accurate steering support a 120.1-mph entry into the uphill esses—quicker than the Exige S 260 Sport.
>
> Shifting the six-speed manual, we probably lost a couple of ticks to a TT RS equipped with the not-for-the-U.S. dual-clutch automatic from the TTS. But working the light-effort six-speed is a lot more fun.
>
> The greatest Golf or a slice of Bugatti? Yes and yes
