These were made 100% in-house, completely designed and built from scratch by PUR’s head fabricator Adam using a combo of mild steel flat bar, square stock and angle iron They are insanely strong. This particular set was made for a side-mountable seat and the result is that the seat is literally dumped on the floor, as low as it can physically be. If you’re wondering how much, these rails took about 6 hours to make (for 2 seats), plus materials, so figure a cost of about 500 bucks. i know that’s pricey but it’s mostly because there’s no jig to base them on. the driver side is 100% custom tailored to the driver. Adam can make any seat fit into any car, in any position. The passenger seat was done going the stock rail route. it’s been adapted to the stock 240 rails so it retains the fore & aft sliding function. The trade-off is that it sits higher. If we end up making a jig for one standard position, or if both sides are to be adapted to the stock 240SX rails, the cost would go down to about 300 for the pair. Looks like I need to come back to do some TIG work! 😛 One question though. Why is only one side welded on the piece with the logo? That’s the one piece that should be welded on both sides. ---

Any reason why the PUR badge has such shitty welds on each corner? I mean I’m no expert and the rest of the welds do look pretty good, just kinda caught my attention :dunno: Still awesomesauce ---

Hey guys, I’ve got a question… So I’ve got a 1990 Miata and was wondering, could you guys modify or fabricate a rail or some kind of adaptor so that I could install a GT-R seat in it? The Miata uses bottom mount rails rather than the side-mount that the 240’s have… ---

fab looks good. just curious if these are tested to any kind of safety standard? i’d hate to see a customer get a set and have an insurance issue after an accident. gotta cover your ass.
