yea, mines not realy an island either but more like a divider that overlooks the houses lower levels from the kitchen. kinda wierd.

the mismatched thing looks like ass
I just redid a backsplash at a house where the cabinet over hanging the mircrowave was black, and over the fridge was black, but everything else was a wood color. The crown molding was black, all the lower cabinets were wood color. It looks like garbage, if you’re going to be spending 60 thousand dollars on cabinets then make sure they match
Cougarspeed, call CFM … they might be able to match your other countertops
Edit: The OP’S kitchen is fine, im saying mismatching cabinets that are together looks like poopoo

I did 14 Guage Stainless counters with backsplashes. I like how they came out and they are very user friendly. I used the same thing on my bar and etched a design with a grinder.

I like JDMSIR, was thinking about doing some glass mosaic at my house too, but can’t decide on what.
The one before looks hideous, looks like some monster garage man room side kitchen, not something someone would actually want in their house.
