i have an 08 cobalt and was wondering what are some of the prices that nyspeeders pay for 5% limo tint in the back window alone? places and prices for tinters near the south towns. Thanks in advance. ---

i know your in the southtowns but ive had 3 vehicles done at scotts tint in lockport and i dont plan to go anywhere else. hes a cool guy and defineatly knows what hes doing. i had a grand prix all 5 windows done for 150, a s10 3 windows done for 120 and blazer 2 windows done for 65. pretty fair i thought and it comes out flawless every time. ---

I had Rainbow Glass Tint in Kenmore do my car a couple years ago. I would go there again and I plan on it in the summer. They use Vinyl on the dots on the back window. A lot of other places do not. I think they did a great job. At Rainbow they have a wide selection and he showed me samples on what they had. I was torn between doing 5% and 20% due to the fact that I was trying not to stick out like a sore thumb. But because I was not getting the doors done I figured I was more “Legal” even though you can’t tint the side windows so why not just get 5. As far as night driving you may have a hard time backing up sometimes but with my Grand Am there is four really bright backup lights so I could see every time. Plus, the 5% really helps when you are doing a lot of night driving to cut down on glare. During the day on really hot days my tint keeps the interior cooler and again helps darken it just a bit to knock down glare. Long story short I have seen other cars with 20, 30 , and 50. The best tinted car I have seen had 15% on the drivers/pass door and 5% on the rear windows. I may do this on my next car/truck. ---

So… since I technically have a wagon I can legally tint all of the windows except for the fronts right? ---

[http://www.nycwt.com/laws.htm](http://www.nycwt.com/laws.htm) My understanding is that ANY side window tint is illegal. I only did the side windows on my car but I know I could get a ticket. I decided not to have my doors done in hopes that I would not get a ticket. So far I have not gotten a ticket for my tint. The reason Minivans and SUVs are able to have tint on there is because they are manufactured that way with tinted glass. There might be some liscensing that allows them to be sold in NYS…Just my $0.02. ---

Anyone post up some of the prices you got? I checked with a place on Elmwood where I got my photo inspection and they told me for my car all 4 side windows and the back would be about $200+. ---

Are they full windows or the small 1/2 windows in a 2 door? ---

yea a 2 door, but the price every were else was like 150 for what i wanted. so they do have a good price, just give them a call and they will give you a quote over the phone. ---
