didn’t you twist your axles on your dana60? we have never had an issue with our mosers. the gentleman who did my gears didn’t properly tq my bolts which is the cause of this, and nothing else. i will let it slide though since he builds the fastest and cleanest RACE CARS in WNY (actual race cars)

no not anywhere near that bad. mine still rotates like there was nothing wrong, but the microvibrations would probably cause more damage, or the bolts to back out again.

the chewed area were are talking about is like .010"-.020" deep if that. the car still drove fantastic, and no noise from the rear other than the occasional LOOSE clunk when i backed it out the garage. it most likely got some debris caught in there from the bolt that backed all the way out

Thats from my GTP, one off about 10 different diffs I had in that car. It also drove fine. I just took it out to find out were the metal was coming from. Its not from the bolts coming lose, it will happen again. Thats a effect not the problem.

i agree that the bolts coming out was the effect THIS time.

i had this rearend torn apart a couple years ago when i thought i blew it. it turned out to be my damn tq arm. doh. when it went back together, the bolts must not have been properly tq’d because some were backing out last year when i had the gear swap done. that caused a little damage but nothing significant. after the new gears went in, the bolts that presently backed out were replaced, tq’d, and locktited. my guess is that the damage to the before-mentioned mating surface was already done, causing a slight vibration to have caused it again.

so the bolts backing out THIS TIME could very well be the result, i wont deny that. it is all the fault of not properly tq’ing the bolts the initial time though years back
