i was wondering how do you tell if you have a bad maf??

these are the symptoms:

- car sputters at idle (it feels like its spitting)
- has trouble reving pass 3500 rpm, it sputters at 3500 and than its able to go above that and it doesn’t feel like its making any power.
- rich smell of gas, gives me the impression i’m running rich.

thanks any help would be appreciated.

my guess its a bad maf sensor.

check the MAF connector. my car crapped out on the 401 and went into limp mode. turned out to be the power wire was loose and eventually came free of the connector.

could just be your MAF took a shit. either way, seems like that’s the issue.

symptoms:

- check engine idiot light
- can’t rev past 2500rpm (limp)
- running pig rich (harsh idle, fouled spark plugs)
