# Bands you've met

I see a lot of people here are really into metal. So What bands have you guys personaly met and actually got to talk to? Not just a “oh hi” chance meeting, but actually talked to for 5+ mins. Any interesting stories? were they cool peeps?
I’d say the most famous person ive talked to was Jerry Cantrel from Alice in Chains. Met him at DL when I was clocking in. He asked how to get into the park from the PAC area (gates were still locked). I talked to him for about 40 mins. Very cool down to earth guy. Also met the guitarist for Disturbed, drummer from mastodon, hung out with the guys from Chimaira, Devine Heresy, Five Finger Death Punch, and a few others.

I was drunk and wandered on the bus for Cartel on Elmwood with my friend a few years ago. They were actually really cool to talk to.
Also met Chris from Dashboard Confessional, Fall Out Boy, and All American Rejects.

I can’t even remember everyone that I’ve met. And jeg, what’s with this just being metal? Ugh.
I’ve met:
Toby from H2O
All of AFI
Adam from AFI for a second time
Jorge from the Casualties (hahah)
hung out with all of Avenged Sevenfold
hung out with the Code, still randomly talk to the singer, Marc, via AIM
umm… I seriously can’t think.
I’ve met everyone in CKY, I even kissed Chad Ginsburg. Ha. I was like, 14. HAHAH. Also met Rake Yon at that occasion.
Bunch of punk bands, it’s all a blur.

anti flag (when they were good)
the casualties
dropkick
afi (when they were good)
stayed with leftover crack for a couple shows…ened up being seeing them about 30 times and hanging with the band members when they were in town.
great guys…

bunch more I cant even remember. Most of the people I met when I worked at Darien Lake. I had full access to the PAC since I was in plumbing maint. So I got to meet most of the bands that played there the 2 years I was there.

i met chuck ragan, that was pretty sweet
my cousin married larry gorman from head automatica / glassjaw fame. (he’s not with them anymore) he’s a good guy. quiet, very quiet. the quiet ones always kind of scare me
also keith buckley, but who in the buffalo area hasn’t met keith buckley. i mean really

I used to know the guys from Chimira pretty well before they were signed to roadrunner, they used to play in Buffalo alot with my Borther in Laws band Short of Breath. I’ve hung with members of Stemm, God Forbid, Displaced, Mesuggah, Dillinger Excape Plan, ZAO, and I used to goto school with members of FireBorn. All thanks to helping with stage setups, promos, ticket and merch sales, etc… All this was in the 2000-2004 range :tup:
I briefly spoke to one of the members of Cradle of Filth as well, that was interesting.

What are they(rock-stars) like off stage? I’ve never had that urge to want to hang with them but so many people clamor for the opportunity so I’m curious; were you disappointed or were you overwhelmed?
