# battery charging

ok now that i have everything complete (for the most part) i took my truck out today and its not charging. whats the chances that its the alternator. or is there something in my wiring that i could have missed. there is only the big 4 gauge red wire that runs from the alt to the battery and then there is a lil red wire that runs from the alt to the interior to show voltage im at a loss for what it possibly be and can advanced idiots test an alternator if i bring it to them to see if that is the problem?

the little red wire needs to kick start the alt!!!to make it charge!!!

so if the lil red wire isnt hooked up to anything its not going to let the alt engage? is that what your saying sir?
