Bought a new battery for the motorcycle but it won’t crank the bike. The charger shows it is fully charged and the voltage reading is good. If the battery is bad, can the voltage still be correct, but not be putting out enough amps to crank the bike?

It was supposed to come fully charged, and I charged it for about 4 hours total. My meter shows about 13 volts - they said it should be around 12.6. If I leave the charger on, then I can get the bike to start. It’s like the battery doesn’t have enough amps. 😕

sorry, jeff its not the battery. The motor is dead and the transmission is toast.

I’ll take it off you hands for $500, just to be a nice guy.

It’s just like I thought. The battery is no good so they’re sending me a new one under warranty (since it’s like 2 weeks old and never used!)
