# Beat to the Punch

Man, am I bummed out. I had a guy who I grew up with who had a 1970 GTO. His Goat was loaded with options and reletively clean. I talked to him at his dad’s funeral about a month ago and told him if he wants to sell the Goat I would like first crack at it. He said that was fine with him but he did not want to sell the car at this time.  
I was driving by a car cruise and I saw the car yesterday. I stopped to see where my buddy was and he was no where around. I called in up this morning and found out he sold the car a couple of weeks before…for $6,000. :dunno:

If you hear a loud scream, it’s probably me. :spank:

General G. I grew up in the Muscle Car era. Started with Pontiacs (70, 71 Grand Prix and 70 GTO), Chevys (71 Monte Carlo, 72 Blazer and 77 L82 Corvette) and Fords/Mercurys (67 Cougar XR7, 70 Torino GT and 72 Torino). Stangs not purchased till mid 80s. I still remember the torque of a big block Pontiac. Would not mind having another one. I knew this car almost as much as the previous owner did. Could have been an excellent Cruiser. Will I ever get another GTO? Probably not. This car was my last chance because I do not want to spend $25K for a GTO. I still have fun with the Stangs.  
Glad to see the mark from the Frying Pan went away. :spank:
