# Been busy for the last month on my House. Tore some walls out.

I have been busy to say the least. Its hard when you live and remodel your home at the same time. I needed more space with two babys running around so I made some changes.

Almost done, need to do the rest of the crown, base, paint, cabinets, trim around stairs-doors, new furniture-curtains-entertainent stand etc. Did everything myself except lift the beam in place. Im fucking beat butt I have two vacations in planned to the Caribbean in the next three weeks to make up for it.

I am in the middle of something similar, just built my temp wall & another brace wall in the basement to support the ceiling joists so I can open up a load bearing wall. I need to get a engineer to spec out the header beam and support construction.

The two spans were a little over 9’ and just over 12’. The 9’ I used two 2x10 dimensional and the 12’ i used 3- 2x12 with 2x6 bearing posts. I had a engineer who is a friend of a friend come and tell me what I needed to do. The basement I had to dig out two 24"x24"x1’ footers with 5000psi concrete (10 bags each). I redid all the supports in the basement, the main support beam is off centered from the first floor old wall, hence the footers in the basement. It was a huge project to do myself. I lost almost 15lbs from stress and physical work.
The floors are from lowes, they are laminate. Allen+Roth, I didnt want hardwood because of the kids and dogs. It looks awesome, the pictures cant show how real it looks. Its hand scrapped toasted chestnut. I will put better pics up when I get back from vacation and everything is complete.Thanks guys.

Yeah I lifted about 12tons of garbage,bricks,etc over a 30 yard dumpster by myself.
