I was wondering if anyone on here might know what kind of headers will be the best for my 97 LT1 swap into my 3rd gen. camaro? I don’t know whether to get Long Tube or Shortys, i would imagine I need shorties but I don’t know. Also if anyone could recomment a good brand of headers that they like please let me know.

Thanks,

Ben

I had these on my LT1 [http://www.azspeed.com/as19lt1flotu.html](http://www.azspeed.com/as19lt1flotu.html) but had to remove them to stay class-legal. There are a quality piece but are a little pricey.

IIRC, I lost 36hp when I went back to stock exhaust manifold and SLP y-pipe/cat. Are you sure that you aren’t going to have fitment problems?

lol, I’ll try to get some pics on my mullet on here later… But will Long tube headers fit under my Camaro??? like im worried about clearance issues on my 3rd gen. And im sure I’ll probably need a custom Y pipe.

BTW - like the car. Third gen looks and 4th gen powerplant. Lovely.

Here are pics of my favorite car owned:

longs will fit… they might stick down just abit depending on brand. but if your not too lowered it will be fine. theres alot of pics on [thirdgen.org](http://thirdgen.org).

you will need a custom y pipe to fit stock style exhaust.
