I had the summer tires put on the Protege a week ago. When I picked it up the desk jockey told me that the left two wheels were bent bad but they got the tires to seal and put them on the back. Car shakes pretty bad at 65. Tires were fine for a week but then I drove over a railroad crossing and got a flat. I haven’t seen the bends. They must be on the inside and not too obvious because a quick look underneath revealed nothing. I’m going to try turbociv’s BFH method: [http://nyspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53987&highlight=bent+wheel](http://nyspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53987&highlight=bent+wheel) …but if that doesn’t work what are my options? Anywhere local? What kind of ballpark cost should I expect? $50? $300? ---

no local places… rim pro did my 19’s for 135… ea and they came back better then new ---

are they even worth fixing… why not just buy a used set of rims ---

call this guy, super wheel repair, guy live in hamburg. I cant remember his name right now but here is his number. 949-7620. He might be able to fix it depending on how bad it it. He also fixed 95vdubs’ rims. ---

I’ve got Friday off so I’m going to unstick all the calipers after another Mazda winter. :hang: While I’ve got the wheels off I’ll take a good look. If they’re bent bad I might not even try lest I crack them. They can at least get me to/from work while I order new wheels. ---

Will do. I’ve got the day off so I’ll be spending my Friday afternoon BFH’ing off stuck calipers and BFH’ing out bent wheels. It’s going to be a fun day! :run: Anybody got a bottle jack I can borrow? Joe if I fuck up I’ll be calling you so that you can me reman’d wheels. The whole things. Two of em. ---

Harbor freight has them(4 ton!) for 9.99… I’d just buy one. ---

Rimpro did my 18’s and they came out flawlessly. I paid $70 a wheel. The also remount the tire to make sure they can bring the balance within a close enough range. If they can’t I was told they don’t charge you. ---

if your cheap like me fix them yourself. Its realy easy and it doesnt need to be perfect. your wheels must be bent realy bad to notice in the rear. Only recomendation i have is to put a tiny piece of wood on the end of the bottle jack as well so you dont get any kinda funny creases that you would need to bang out with a hammer. ---

For $10 bucks I’ll just grab a harbor freight deal. That way if it makes it through two uses I’ll have one on hand. 😛 ---

That could be fun… But I’m going to run out and get a bottle jack, a couple of cans of brake parts cleaner, and some caliper grease on my lunch break.
