# Best advice for taking care of a ticket

I have had 2 speed tickets dropped in buffalo due to no show with this method.
city of tonawanda judge is very fair and I give them a lot of credit for making it more of a re education deal rather than the way amherst and west seneca are done where they just pile people through to school.

Just don’t get a ticket from a trooper in buffalo. That’s nearly impossible to get out of. Unless you know someone. I know a bunch of people, one being an ADA who couldn’t even help. BPD buddy came through for me though. I still owe him dinner come to think of it.

It’s Amherst, it’s less than 20 over. Plead not guilty, show up, DA will drop it to parking and set the fine between $100 and $150.
The new “no plea” BS only applies to more than 20 over and I’m not sure if it even that made it into the budget they eventually passed.

I’ve paved many roads in NY thanks to my speeding “contributions” throughout the state and I’m not proud of it as it’s cost me some money through the years and sucks.
Even lost my license 8 yrs ago because of it.
Either don’t speed, or pay to play and don’t complain.
It’s revenue for the state and there is little you can do about it, especially as they seem to be getting harsher and less “sympathetic”.

holy shit at “not guilty” **not** being the way to go. what the fuck.
Always, always, always, always, always, always, plead not guilty. No matter what the situation. Always. without hesitation. without question. never, should anyone (without speaking to a lawyer first) ever ever ever ever ever plead guilty.

with that said, plead not guilty, talk to the DA, go through the motions, yadda yadda yadda.
or get a lawyer for ~$200 and not worry about a thing.

this part. My time has value too and sitting through a bullshit 5 hours class plus 2 hours in court and a higher fine. I will take my $200 lawyer + 100 fine any day.

I see some are saying to call a lawyer. Anyone have contacts to one. Yea I could google it and find a local but if someone knows of a decent lawyer that might be friends/golf buddies with an Amherst judge…please PM their #

Your results may vary but both times I’ve been to Amherst court on speeding tickets I got them dropped to parking with no school without a lawyer. Took about 30 minutes of my time. I make pretty good bank if a lawyer is $200 it’s tough for me to justify $400 an hour. 🙂
Come to think of it, in all the tickets I’ve gotten reduced over the years in various townships I’ve never been sentenced to school. I did the school once voluntarily when I was 17 with a buddy because we both wanted to lose some points.
