My friend was a store manager at a Goodyear. He told me lots of stories that involved misleading and selling customer’s services they didn’t need after he quit.
The fact that corporate expected him to run the store like that was ultimately why he quit. He was tired of ripping people off because they didn’t know any better. He was in a position where these customer’s trusted his word and the whole time he was trying to make the most money that he could for the store.
One story he told me, a lady brought her car in during winter because a wheel was wobbling. One wheel was chocked full of ice. They put it in an empty bay for 3 hours and let it thaw out. Then billed her for $200. That’s some expensive heat!

Yeah they are crooks. They gave me a $100 estimate of doing a 2 wheel alignment on my bmw that had 18’s. I had to do it cause they were the only place not busy in NF that day, my steering was fucked from when i redid my whole susp and steering. I get there, then the guy tells me its gonna be its more. I didn’t want to stay and see what the more was gonna be. Fucking crooks.

When I was looking at new tires for the Grand Prix that location and the Dunn Tire on Sheridan both told me “we can’t legally sell you tires rated less than what comes on it from the factory”. The Firestone location in that Sheridan/BLVD/Eggert area was the most helpful…but prices were very high.

You are not suppose to mis match speed ratings. If you get 4 it does not matter.

A few years ago this shop failed one of my wife’s friends new nissan for not having a fuel inlet restrictor. She calls me in tears so i run over there, they failed it for not having the flap thing. (which most cars no longer have)

ha funny to read this cause I work at goodyear on frnech and union ive been readin the business charts and they are one of the lowest. so it doesnt surprise me to see them over charge, over evaluate the customer…
funny story but we hired a dumbass at one point who thought when a tierod swivled back a forward that ment it was loose. we didnt keep him long…

My uncle took his piece of shit taurus in there one day to get one rear caliper replaced, with pad and rotor.
They wanted 1300 bucks to do it. This was in the middle of winter.
We sucked it up and did it for 90 bucks or something, I forget but it was stupid what they wanted.
