Driving back tonight I noticed Union rd was closed at william st. All barricaded off. My friends said they saw it that was at 7:30- with tons of emergency vehicles there. Anyone know the story? ---

I was at that intersection tonight when the penguins WON the cup… 11pm(ish) I have no idea what happened though ---

saw a dressed cruiser laying on its side with debris everywhere… cops havnt touched it in hours ---

It was a retired NYS Trooper that was killed on his bike there. ---

(WIVB) - A retired New York State Trooper was killed in a motorcycle accident in Cheektowaga Friday. Cheektowaga Police Captain John Glascott says 52-year-old retired Trooper Robert Binns was on a motorcycle on Union Road near William Street when the accident occurred. 18-year-old Jeffery Kolacki was heading in the opposite direction and was waved on by another driver that it was okay to make a left turn into the Mobil gas station at that intersection. Binns was thrown off his motorcycle and suffered severe injuries. He was pronounced dead at ECMC. Kolacki has been charged with failure to yield the right of way. I know 3 people who have been seriously injured or killed this summer and its barley June and there has been so many more accidents this year. A lot of them seem to be cars hitting bikes doing nothing. ---

Exactly why I won’t get another bike. Every day i’m amazed at the idiocy that occurs on public roads by motorists. Like yesterday in the course of about 3 miles: Layding pulling out right in front of me cuz she was texting. Then a idiot begins making a Left on red the realizes after they are already in the other road it was a bad idea and backs up. Then a lady impatient to pull out of Timmy ho’s but doesn’t have room so she pulls perpendicular to the flow of traffic and then backs up down gennessee so she can pull up to aget aligned with the flow of traffic. ---

^I’ve seen that before…it makes me wonder if maybe, just maybe, there should be tighter restrictions on licenses.
