# Big Computer Problems need help

well idk what i downloaded or opened my computer is now almost at a dead stop its so slow now the blue screen comes up every like 5 min not even just flashes and the computer restarts. then takes forever to reboot. web pages pop up all the time. serious error messages pop up. is there anything out there be sides a fresh windows install that can fix this like a scan or something. please help this is getting old fast.

Boot into Safe mode(press F8 when you boot your computer) and run a virus scan.(House Call)

Download a Spyware program too,like Adaware or Spybot.Update it,then scan.

driver issue, or something with the hardware is going bad.

Boot to a linux livecd, and see if that works fine. If it doesn’t its the hardware, if it works fine its your drivers.

ok well now the computer is total shit when i start it it says gateway ( f2 setup) ( f10 boot) then goes to the next screen says boot from cd hit any key so i do (i have the windwos xp cd in) then i hit the key and it goes blank and does nothing at all. and if i have no cd in it just goes blank and thats it. what the hell can i do to fix this i need my computer bad.

remove any hardware that is not onboard… video card, NIC, audio anything that is permanent. Only hook up the mouse keyboard and monitor then try and boot. you could have corrupted hardware
