I spent about 6 hours today on the rear quarter, minus the front fender this was the hardest part of the car yet, it was very warped from the new quarter being put on. Since my hood didnt come today, I figured I might as well put the rear lower valence on. I figured it would take 20 minutes, wrong. Before I could do the final bodywork on the fenders I had to scrape off the original 40 year old ford undercoating that was flaking off. Little help from the heat gun and a putty knife made easy work of this. I wirewheeled all of the surface rust off and sprayed it with truck bed coating. I didnt want to use undercoating because it stays sticky. 3M makes good undercoating that is rubbery and does not stay sticky. The bead liner should do the trick tho.
