# BING.com google banner

so i find it really interesting that Microsoft is using Google Ads to promote their competitive search engine…

however,

it just occured to me that the google ads use the site data to determine which google ads to post.

so in essence, the reason why we are seeing the google ad for [BING.com](http://BING.com) at the bottom of the main page so often is because my name is all over the place on the forum…

google can’t tell the difference between my name and a reference to the [bing.com](http://bing.com) engine…

food for thought.
