westinghouse tvs are definitely not “shit”. for the price they are very decent. ---

I grabbed the 32" westinghouse last year for $249…tv has been fantastic since. worth it IMO. ---

I’m planning on snagging a new laptop for under $500. Just started browsing for deals now, hopefully gonna get an HP. Also looking to get a desktop computer for my mom if anyone has any leaks. ---

If not stay away from wallmart/BJs/etc. Usually with coupons and deals you are better off customizing and buying right from the manufacture’s site. Again I’d recommend HP. ---

^^from what ive been seeing toshibas are getting pretty good too for the money. we have hp xw8600 desktops here at work, theyre alright i guess. im hoping to get some good deals on new brakes for the car. ---

Funny that you mention that because Toshiba is the other brand I’m seriously considering. My dad has an HP that I’ve always liked. A few months ago my sister got a Toshiba and I just don’t find the keyboard and mouse as comfortable to use. Maybe I’m just picky, but I am hearing good stuff about Toshiba lately as well. As a whole, it just feels a bit too cheap. Probably trying to save weight but the plastics just seem very cheap which is somewhat of a concern. HP’s feel a bit heavier but it just feels like there’s more quality put into the build. As it gets closer I’ll have to see who’s got the better deals. ---

HPs support and driver page is a lot better than toshiba’s btw. Toshiba is pretty good too. ---

I had nothing but horrible experiences with HP. Their warranty is completely useless, any kind of hardware issue and they’ll make up something that voids your warranty. I had a USB port physicially break off a laptop and they told me it was not covered due to moisture in the heatsink. WTF? The other one I had actually started shooting blue sparks out the power port and they wouldn’t cover that either. Went with Dell with the @Home service, any problems and they have a tech at my house the next day fixing it. ---

We use all HP at my work, and have never had a problem with the support service/warranties. I usually only have to call every couple months due to old/bad ram and they overnight the ram to me. Had a bad motherboard in a laptop and they sent a guy out the next day who repaired it. I don’t even call them I just go through their support site and explain my problem and they ship me the parts. Maybe the business support is separate from home support? I deal with about 500+ HP printers, desktops, and laptops ---

I would assume the enterprise support is different. Their home support was terrible. Long hold times and you had to mail in the laptop at your own expense. Dell I online chat with India, tell them I’m proficient and skip the troubleshooting BS, and get the parts I need overnighted and a tech at my house the next day.
