anybody know of any good bmw independant shops? i was hoping to find somebody with a gt1 tool so when i replace my clutch in the spring they can re initialize my trans so i wont have to get raped by the dealer ---

i seem to recall jason from black forest saying he was getting a BMW scan tool recently? he may have already done it? regardless, he’s the guy to talk to for an independent shop. he’s bracketracer on here. ---

[/quote] as jam said, he’s an established member on dub in the buff. if you are not already on there, sign up and read about him. i can’t think of one time i’ve ever read a bad thing about him. an extremely good friend of mine (speedracer18t) took his 1.8T jetta to bracketracer all the time and now brings his e46 to jason. from what i understand, a lot of the exotic car owners around here bring their cars to him to. he always posts pics of these baller ass lambos he is doing work on. ---

Quick and dirty background: 5/93-6/98 - owner of Black Forest Motorsport in Knoxville, TN (mostly an indy Mercedes shop) 5/93 - 6/98 - tech at European Motor Werks in Knoxville, TN (worked on everything Euro, and needed this as a full-time gig, since I wasn’t quite as business savvy then as I am now) 6/98 - 11/99 - lead Audi/Porsche tech at Ken Garff VW/Audi/Porsche in Provo, UT 11/99 - 11/03 - Service mgr/lead technician/General Manager at Lamborghini Salt Lake City 1/05 - 5/05 - lead tech/diagnostician at Sutherland’s Service in Pittsford, NY 6/05 - 2/07 - Service mgr/lead tech for Premium Auto on Sheridan (that is, until I found out my boss was a dirty f\*\*k) ---

Sutherlands and premium hmmm… might want to leave those out of the resume. LOL just joking. I’ve dealt with Sutherlands, seams to be a nice place Wolfburg cant be a crook- if he was he wouldnt just be doing weekends ---

Yeah, Sutherland’s - home of factory buybacks at a great price. Also home of management who doesn’t seem to have a problem calling some employees (not me) stupid assholes Then Premium…christ, where do I start. You know what really pisses me off is that I did what I was hired to do, which was to take a service department that had run the previous 4 years in the red, and make it black. I did that in my first year. Then things just started getting weird. And here I pondered why Mike didn’t really care about my month-end reporting. Why care about reporting if you’re not using them to send in tax returns?! Weekends…733k, and he gets weekends. Man, cash is king and the state and county want their damn money back. ---
