# BMW software update

So I read this thread:

And apparently it may benefit my car which is an early 08 model. For those who are lazy, it may add up to 22hp to my car. I still have the factory maintenance warranty until next month. I took my car in for an alignment a couple weeks ago and told them that the i-drive is slow (it is at start up) hoping to get the new software but had no luck. Anything I can do to get my car updated to the latest version within my free maintenance period?
