Holding someones hand as a non sexual gesture of is one thing. For an American President to BOW before another leader is insulting to America. The president is the highest member of our government and should conduct himself as such. That being said, He should not bow to anybody. It is against the code of conduct set forth by the presidents before him. But hey, he is all about “change” right?

Insulting? What is really insulting is the fact that we even have a relationship with a country like saudi arabia.
He is showing respect to the ruler of the country he is visiting. You really think this hurts America, give me a fucking break. How childish.
AND YES RESPECTING OTHER COUNTRIES IS THE CHANGE I VOTED FOR.

Showing respect is fine. I am all for respect, as many people have no sense of respect. But the President should now lower his head to anyone. :picard:. never mind. You don’t get it. read up on your history a little more. In MANY countries, bowing like he did is a sign of weakness and submission. Also, the whole appologizing thing…yeah that also is seen in many cultures as a sign of weakness.
Oh, and holding hands like Bush is doing in the pic is a custom in some countries, it is a sign of respect and equality.

Do you think Obama showed weakness? Are you kidding me? And apologizing doesn’t show weakness it shows humility, which is what we need to show after 8 years of Bush.

If it’s not a major violation of protocol for a US president, why is the Obama administration trying to cover it up saying it wasn’t a bow? They’re claiming Obama is so much taller he had to bend down to shake both hands. :roll2:
