Same thing. I ice fish over by Wally’s on Vandenburg point. They always have a 1000’ (I think) plowed drag strips out front. I’m like, well, maybe because they are doing “sanctioned races” or something official like that. They get away with it.
I don’t know. Next time I actually see a DEC. I might just ask to get the official “speed limit” from them. I’d like to hear. “Well, the speed limit is 55, but if you’re out in the open and nobody is in the area fishing. You can put the hammer down and we don’t care. But if there are people around. Take it easy”.
Oh man. 130+ on a strip. That has to be fun.

One of the guys in the office just told me that you can legally ride the road on a snowmobile in NYS if there is a snow emergency. Of course you have to be insured and registered. But is that true? If so, bring on the snow emergency’s. You’ll be able to find me on down on Rt. 5. haha.

Yep, we someone :ninja rode down the thruway to xgates on sleds that christmas we got 2+ feet dumped on us a few years back.

Damn, you made it down to X-gates on snowmobile. That’s epic. How did you get on the thruway and how was it. Were you able to make it back without riding on plowed roads. I can’t wait. I would love to ride the roads. I remember seeing snowmobiles on Rt5. a couple of years ago when we got 18" in the matter of a day. I don’t think it was a christmas though. I saw the sleds on my way home from work.

went right accross the bridge and through the toll booths! lol
When i had the quad all studded up i would drive all over amsterdam on the snowy roads too. it is a blast! i am crossing my fingers for another dumping that halts all 4 wheel travel so i can ride the roads.

As long as I don’t have to get up the next morning. I’d be there. I’d love to rip the streets/roads. Pretty much untouchable on a sled. I used to ride the road on various toys. But working late then getting home and having to snowblow and shovel the roof for 4 hours after work sucks. haha. All this hype. I can’t wait to ride. How is your sled coming along. Did you figure out the recoil issue.

Fired up the sled last night. Changed the chain case oil, adjusted the track and greased up all the fittings I could find on the machine… shits ready to roll on thrusday.
We better get a massive dump… I wana rip up the streets!!!

Went to Indian lake/inlet/old forge today. Put 110 miles on the sled with no problems!
Fuckin -5 degrees this morning when we unloaded with a -20 wind chill. It was kinda cold!

Buy my 99 MXZ600. I took it out around the house last night. Just threw new carbides, some bearings and a recoil on it. First yank and its running. and runs very strong.
I want a rev soooo bad. I have a lead on a 440X race sled with pump gas domes, bigger tank and oil injection.
