apperently nissan calls to bleed from closest to ferthest… wired eh? just for the s13 ---

Well, I guess we didn’t really do that. We bled the rears seperately, then figured they were bled and just bled the fronts after replacing the calipers… Pete, chime in, maybe we’ll try this before changing the MC? ---

Well if it calls for closest to furthest, that’s the order we did it in… Is there any way of telling if a MC is blown by visual inspection? We could look it over when we pull it out to bench bleed, and decide if we want to even bother trying it or not. Then bench bleed which ever one we’re gonna put in, and go from there. ---

One of the rear bleeder screws is stripped just like the front. ---

yea that happened 2 me 2 use a i used a rachet with and deep 10mm socket. ---

It’s stripped for a 10 mm. Ill prolly just smash a 3/8 on there or something… vice grips maybe… ---

if you get it open… the order goes right rear left rear right front left front (the front order doesnt make sense to me either… but thats what the FSM says) ---

Sure it does, just depends on the way you look at the car. I assume that it is using the POV from behind the car… so that makes logical sense. ---

my buddy had the same problem with his 86. the sequence we went through was re-buildling the mc (o-ring was done), bench bleeding it, then bleeding all the calipers (from furthest to closest). the results didn’t happen right after doing all of this but we figured maybe there is some sort of a break-in period for his mc when he re-built it so maybe that was the case. nonetheless, it’s braking fine now so if i were you i’d either pick up a mc that you know for sure is good, or just get a rebuild kit for your mc and remember to bench bleed afterwards. ---

Ya, tommorow I’ll be bench bleeding the MC either the one I have or the one I got… after seeing which is in better condition just from a visual standpoint. Should become apparent while bench bleeding, we’ll see if the rear seal leaks or not I guess… ---

sorry i mixed that up its: left rear right rear left front right front if it’s supposed to go from farthest from MC to closest… then that makes sense since the rear line runs along the passenger side (so the left (driverside) rear is actually further from the MC than the right (passengerside) rear) but i dont get how the left front (driverside) is farther from the MC than the right front (passengerside) ---

just try bleeding it in sequence drivers side back all the way around to the drivers front. because i had the same situation as u bleed the peddle gets hard but if u dont follow the sequence it messes up and th peddle gets soft again. ---

Yep, we bench bled the MC today. Re-bled all the lines in sequence, although we couldnt do the rear driver side seeing as the bleeder screw remains stripped. Pedal stiffened up. Turned the car on. Soft as shit. after one or two pumps pedal pressure returns. But this is FAR from driveable. We took it for a 10 minute spin around the neighbourhood and almost hit countless people. Thank the lord for my sturdy handbrake! Anyways, we’re considering the possibility that there might be something wrong with the booster. The new MC’s rear seal has not broken, and the MC is in great shape. We still aren’t losing any fluid. I’m starting to get agitated… ---

Hmmm… I’ve always bled the other way around lol, thinking that passenger side is further, since the MC is on driver side. ---

Get that bleeder screw off, rebleed, if it still does that then you can get agitated. All calipers have to be bled to work properly. Brake booster would have nothing to do with soft peddel feel. It dosnt matter what conditon the rear seal is in, what matters is the piston inside that you dont see. I also always bleed starting from the passenger side, always worked for me. ---

yea thas what happens when u dont bleed properly in sequence the paddle wood be all hard sometimes and as soon as u turn it on it goes soft, take a vise grip and open that stripped bleeder, its worth a try . trust me i went through the same thing its a piss off i left the car on the hoist for like a few days cuz some ass was like ill bring u my bleeder it automaticly bleeds everything so i waited but didnt get it. and then i finaly decided to check out mitchell on demand to see if i was doing something wrong.
