I’m stil not sure which one is causing the problem. but this is the problem, my brake pedal. when i press on it, it goes straight to the floor and theres no pressure, the car stops, but barely. when the car is off and i pump it, theres pressure there. what could be the problem? theres fluid and shit. this happened before, but for some reason, some violent brake pressing fixed it. but now its really fucked. help please.
brake master?
brake booster?

I would go with brake master, if you are not losing any fluid, and you know you have good pads/no wierd noise

coincidentally I have an S13 ABS master/booster assembly kicking around in kitchener

Bleed your brakes well…

Should fix the problem…

Have you replaced your MC lately? Have you done any brake work lately?

I need more info…

i kinda have the same problem but only when the car has been sitting for a couple of hours. What I do usually is start the car, leave it in park and pump the brakes until there’s pressure. Usually just takes a min of pumping. After that it’s fine.

Right now I’ve got the same problem with my brakes…

I didnt realize it… and it didnt seem like it… but I was told my brake booster is leaking…

I’m gunna be getting a new brake booster to see if that fixes the problem… But if you figure something else… post up what you found.

i asked my technicians at work, and they said its rare that the brake booster will give up, especially on jspec cars like ours. i’m gonna bleed it tonight, and if it doesn’t work, brake master cylinder is next.

I am pretty aure they are different part numbers one abs and non abs…i think there is a reason for the differences so use the right one for the set up you have i think would be the best idea

installed a SOHC non abs master cylinder and now it works like gang busters. feels great, but the only problem i don t’like is that i don’ t even need to give it much force to lock up the wheels. like thers very little travel. not really complaining about it, but is that a good or bad thing?

shouldnt be bad… maybe adjust your pedal out a bit. it may be acting as though your already pressing them a bit when the pedal isnt being pressed.

-Matt
and i just had to replace the mc on my car… 60$ for a new one ftw
