i recently changed my crank pulley to a asp crank pulley.during the install i accidendly broke that little tab that the crank pulley goes into.would it effect anything ? ---

the key on the crank? yes if that isnt there then that pully will just spin on the crank ---

woodruff key? if so than yes u do like gandza said the pully will just spin. you can make another 1. ---

broke it? no way… that part circle - woodruff key is a seperate piece it just sits in the slot… then the pulley slides over it locking its position ---

yeah i woodruff key. i found one at lows but it was a bit big.so i filed it down ---

so this is a balanced part you guys understand that right… if you broke it go to Nissan and get a new one. or else youll have crank vibrations that overtime can fuck up the engine. ---

^ agreed. Even a little bit off from factory spec and it’ll cause mad problems at higher rpms. I doubt that it could cost that much anyways? ---

would the same thing happen if you chipped a stock pulley? like chipped a piece off the pulley, the thin part that is on either side of the belt ---

haha, home depot. Your awesome. Brand new one from Nissan is dirt cheap. I got a new one last year.
