Shit…I made the bushing tubes out of the wrong diameter steel. They should be 13/16", this stuff is 16 gauge DOM which is 7/8" inside. My bushings won’t fit so I have to order the right tube, re-cut all the bushing tubes I already cut (18) and redo the rear suspension arms. And the front arm I made is wrong too, but at least that wasn’t my fault, the book has the wring offset, it’s suposed to be 22mm to get 5.3 degrees of caster, the book only shows 11mm. ---

2/3 through fitting the suspension brackets, this is a real PITA because they have to be perfect. Luckily my frame is not warped at these points, it’s perfectly level under the suspension mounts…Probably because they were the parts most firmly clamped when welding. But there is some distortion up at the front upper mount area, so I had to compensate a little. Also, the front mounting points are 25mm higher than the book mounts because I’m using different spindles, so I had to figure out how to get the top mounts to line up because the tubes they mount to are at different angles. I had to get the two tubes to cross over an inch higher than they do in the book. because of the height I made all the mounts 13mm further out than the book. Lots of progress over the last few days, I am 90% done with the frame, I just have to cover the tranny tunnel and firewall with sheet steel, and touch up and grind some sloppy welds. Then once I get the transmission (which is STILL not here) I can test fit the engine, make the motor mounts, and transmission mount. i have a pipe bender. depending on the wall thickness of your tubing, and the radius your are trying to get it will work for you. you are welcome to use it anytime lafengas and i are down there working…but siince you only have 110 you cant bring it home ☹ plus it is a heavy bastard. ---

emkay, what material are you using for bushings ? is this new set oversized ? if they are oversized, drop them off, ill run them all thru the lathe and make them fit right … ---

Thanks, I managed to bend it using a large 2" thick piece of wood with a 3/4" hole drilled in it, a trick I learned while reading the UK Locost forum. It worked ok but not great. I will need to have to bend some 1.5" stuff for the rollbar at some point, so I can take you up on your offer then. It will just be 90 degree bends.
