You HAVE to engineer something if you plan on driving it to a car show. Otherwise your going to make a giant hot wheels POS that you need to flat bed everywhere. Even if you were to make some sort of solid tubular frame for a lift instead of an actual suspension, you still need to plan out u-joint angles/stress’s, gear ratio’s, and you can’t use just some junker that is already rusted through because every bump you hit will make you fall that much closer to the ground.
But if you just want to be stupid, put 50’s on a vw beetle

yeah I really dont care. It would be funny to roll it around once or twice, beyond that it would just be stupid. Not that its not stupid to begin with, which it obviously is. I was thinking build it, roll it a couple times, then sell it. You know some shit like that would sell quick. I kinda want to do it just to say I did, just to have one more stupid thing that I could say I’ve done. From that point forward it would be like in addition to everything else I’ve done automotively, I was the asshole that busted out with the 60" rims that one year just to be a jackass
I still say it wouldnt be all that hard. If anything I could get an already high riding truck chassis and lift it a little more. Then if I decided to put a car body on it then just swap bodies. That would undoubtedly be alot easier than doing a 20" lift on a caprice.

I’m pretty sure it’s illegal to have all 4 tires on the sides of the vehicle. Wayy to much exposed rubber. And how would you turn?

we’re not talking professional engineering that needs to be done…just some non-retarded garage engineering. like applying some degree of thought beyond… “I want to have 30 foot wheels”.
You’re trying to make an application in real life…not draw a picture. It involves a bit more thought than what you have portrayed.

Make it a throwback to the covered wagon days and build it out of wood! Or take a standard wheel and weld up a bunch of tubing to the outside simulating spokes. Bend up a piece of metal to make the circumference of the wheel…put the tire right on this and there ya go. In my head it makes perfect sense…how strong and or usable will it be is another issue.

old farmer tractor wheels seem like the easiest. get the baldest tractor tires you can find and saw off the lugs so they are mostly smooth. empty the calcium out of them first though if they are filled.
graft a non driven tractor axle under the front and lift the crap out of the back. maybe swap in a full size truck axle back there to better handle the load. think 1 ton or dump truck or something like that.
just because its a cobble, doesnt mean that it wont last. my wifes cousin’s home welded, non balanced, chevette driveshaft has held up fine for 5 years even with senseless beatings all day long, drifts, burnouts etc, every day by him. 2.5L s-10 4 banger and a t5 in a chevette. welded the s-10 and chevette shaft together. has a bit of vibration though but not that bad… lol. that car sure is fun.
you guys must not have had to fix things in a pinch much with what was laying around. if you did much farm cobbling to keep a piece of vital equipment going and then had it last for years even though the fix looked hideous, you might have a more mature attitudes instead of the narrow, anal, funless, perfectionist views that you possess at this time.
