I am basing it off what I make and life style and future of having a wife. I still like to travel, have the toys and new cars so a income here would mean it would need to be double or more to live the exact same life in theory. I know you get deductions for housing and children and being married but from a single guy point of view, that is my biggest fear about this one guy making the money in the family. I don’t want my income split 3 ways. ---

McMansion and drive brand new Mercedes and BMWs. i think that is how you end up in trouble…we are a good bit past those figures and i still don’t think i’d be comfortable buying a $50k car…i really want to, but i can’t bring myself to do it… although interestingly we are planning to adopt and it probably will end up costing as much as a new BMW…but it seems like a no-brainer… ---

Family oriented activities blow ass. I’d much rather make younger friends than suffer through play dates and Disney movies. Emotionless in this case means you weighed all the options and made a rational decision, without emotions getting involved, which is the type you should make for serious things like that. IF I decide to have kids, I’d have to be financially secure enough to have a live-in (hot) nanny, and a house big enough that their crying didn’t wake me up at night. GTFO with the shitty diapers. Even then, I think I’d still take a new Ferrari. ---

I was good at GM for a few yrs, even drove older cars and didnt buy myself a new car until 3 yrs later. It all happened when I went to TRY to get approved for a 160K house in Wheatfield. After the meeting I was approved for a 350K house on just my income, not wifey’s. 6-8 mos later wound up buying a 450K house(which we gutted after buying) and over the next 3-4 yrs- 04 silverado,05 equinox, 06 Vette Vert, 07 Tahoe LTZ, 08 Sky Turbo( wifey’s anniv present never drove it and had 891 miles when traded in), 40-50K in jewelry, etc, etc. The only thing that kept it all toghether was that I’m a hustler(I sold over $20K in pop at GM one year and yes my acct made me claim it lol) but How many yrs did I take off my life from the stress? I’m just trying to give advice to you guys from someone that’s lived it and while having stuff is nice, calmness and a simple life has alot of value as well. No need to bash, just stated my opinion on what I think is best. ---

i stopped reading at page 4. and all i would like to say is if i ever have one of those really stupid expensive annoying things called children, you bet your ass i’m NOT going to be stay at home mom. unless you guys want me to kill myself. my parents both worked their asses off and had enough time to raise me. and i think they did an alright job. i’m not perfect, but i don’t suck. oh, and good for the bus monitor. go on vacation. retire. donate the rest of the money. fuck those kids. not saying bullying is good, but pick on someone your own age. ---
