But you only get it if you promise to spend the $800 at Walmart buying cheap Chinese goods, because that will stimulate the economy.

1: They don’t know the amount.
2: They don’t know who will get it.
3: Even if you do get it, they won’t be mailing checks until at least June.
There is bi-partisan support for it, so it will go somewhere. The democrats will want to give more to the poor/unemployed, the republicans will want to give more to businesses, and in the end there will be some sort of compromise so they can both claim they got you this money for their election runs.

It sounds good but more deficit spending is never the answer. That $800 will probably cost you $1000 to $1200.

im not really seeing how this is going to boost the economy, they give us money to spend, money is gone and the economy still blows. Gas prices wont be going any lower and i think its just a cover to please the easy people.
