# Buying vs. Building a home

^^^lafengas, what is that model in? solidworks?
just out of curiousity if you have tried using revit instead. were using it at work and it is an awesome tool as far as buildings go. although theres still some glitches it works well. you can model in all plumbing electrical and hvac as well in the same model. on a small scale such as this file size would be no issue with it.
edit: im building. plan to build a barn with shop downstairs/apartment upstairs and then when the time is ready ill build my log cabin on the same property. ive been working on actual layout and whatnot for around 8 months now, but had it in my head for a few years.

Damn, that’s no joke. Now where do you plan on building it? lol
This thread is helping me realize that building a first house is definitely a stupid idea. Hell, buying a house is enough commitment. I don’t even like talking about the week after next with my g/f.
