Fixed. New M5’s are getting twin turbo V8s.

The V10 M5 motor is one of the best sounding motors ever offered in a street car though. Pure sex.

there was an article with someone putting the s85 into an e92 m3, i dont see a reason why i dont think its worth the effort over the new m3 v8 but to each their own
