what’s to get?

twin turbo to what looks like dual air-water intercoolers…side feed to the IM on top

look closer to the exhaust manifold/downpipe setup.

THINK: V8.

Yeah, I’m not sure what to explain. Maybe I’m missing something.

header/turbo/ic/intake?

red boxes are for air filters… openings below them are for ram air. black hose/pipe in front is for IC.

Not sure what you’re asking?

I think I see what you’re asking about… the rear-most cylinders exhaust tube seems to come in at the back of the turbo instead… not sure what’s going on there…

_ding ding_.

The only explanation is to reduce backpressure… but… why?

Reverse rotation turbocharger on right side
Both are set up to run off only 3 cylinders to reduce issues from excessive exhaust pressure.

The turbines they chose were small so that is the reason for running only 3 out of the 4.

And the engine is out of a ML 63 and not a CL 63

are you talking about the runner on the rearmost cylinder?

i think that’s just how they had to design the manifold to fit in the engine bay…if they had made it a longer, more equal length runner, they prolly would’ve had interference along the frame or with some other piece of equipment.

i dont think they are “only using 3 out of 4 cylinders” on each bank…that’d be retarded and such a waste. the runner is probably just really short and feeds basically directly into the turbine housing. think like a log manifold…something like the 2 middle runners

i’ve never seen a 1 piece cast comination turbine housing/exhaust mani before tho that’s pretty cool (but GOTTA be sooo expensive to fix lol)

to back myself up

> To avoid negative effects on the system from excessive exhaust-gas pressures the manifolds are designed to utilize the exhaust from only three of the four cylinders on each side of the engine V for driving the turbochargers.

wow, i can understand using a smaller turbo for more low range tq and all that crap but WHY would you do that haha…such a waste of 2 cylinders.

“Excessive exhaust pressures” :gay2: might as well have just used a blower

i guess when its 6.3L and using tiny turbo’s you don’t need all 8 cyls to run em efficiently.

Ugh. Would be a pain to tune that thing.

def need separate EGTs on a bunch of cylinders and cylinder based timing maps.

yeah, that would seriously suck.

and as for the 1-piece exh housing and manifold… all the new VW’s have that shit too, and it fucking sucks ass-mar.
