Just trying to come up with some new shit to investigate. It really needs to be 150 feet or higher but I’ll verify that type of stuff later. By “in the area” I mean within an hour or so. I’ll drive further for a solid lead.

_No border crossing bridges._

Here are ones that I know of.

1)springville 219 bridge old & new & RR
2)transit in elma (unknown height)
3)all the bridges over 18 mile creek are too low
4)The grand island bridges are pretty tall to the top

can you think of any more?

Canada OK but probably already known. I’m tryin to tap the unjumped western NY sector. Water is OK if it’s “worth it” but I can set it down in pretty tight areas.

Hate to point out the obvious but… Letchworth?

Wikipedia says it’s 240 feet high. I’ve been on top of that sucker and man it’s freaky to look down.

I know people who have.

Letchworth would be fucking dicey because the only good landing area is down past the waterfall.

The Letchworth bridge would be awesome. State parks are probably tougher to pull this type of thing off, and make sure you go during the dry season.

Yep.

So I went here and sorted by state. The only tall bridges on the list that are in Western New York are border crossings that cross the Niagara River. The Letchworth bridge isn’t listed though so this list can’t be comprehensive.

Height in this list refers to the distance from the bridge deck to the lowest point on the land, or the water surface, directly below. A bridge's deck height is greater than its clearance below, which is measured from the bottom of the deck structure, with the difference being equal to the thickness of the deck structure at the point with the greatest clearance below. It would take some scouting, but I think there is a bunch of area off to the sides of the water… I’m not sure if it freezes. You might want to just drive up and down the the genessee river and check out all of the pedestrian and road bridges, there are bunch that are high up like this one.
