What recourse do I have here? I changed carriers and the old one after acknowledging receiving the cancellation and processing it still goes on to deduct my monthly amount in excess of $200.

- I already called them to ask to refund the money and correct their records.
- Should I also put a stop payment to the company?
- They are liable for a refund right?

1 say you’re going to rage on them if they dont stop
2 you should not need to, but if they keep taking money then yes

regardless if you cancelled they can still take money

you have to meey the premium set out by the insurer

ie. say the premium is 70% and you cancelled mid policy, thn youve only covered 50%

i just did the same thing. but i cancelled with only a few month left so i had covered 75% when they needed only 70% so they sent me money back.

Go to your bank and put a stop payment.
