# Cant get hatch open on gsr

The release on my 98 gsr broke and now i cant open the rear hatch and it was just my luck that the rear bulb decided to blow today also.I kno i can get into fix the light through the backseat but would rather be able to use the hatch still.If anyone knows how to open the hatch let me know thanks

this black guy i worked with had the same problem when he first bought his truck, after swapping in his 40 billion watt sound system, the door blew open and then it wouldnt close

I have the same problem on my gsr. i found that if you unlock it with the key while trying to unlatch it simultaneously, it will eventually open. if that doesn’t work you can pull the panels off from inside the trunk and get to the latch bolts.
