# car bogs when stepping on gas

hey my 95 240sx ka24de bogs when i step on the gas it back fires through the intake and has some smoke on the passenger side of the engine compartment it idles fine. just started 2 days ago when i was driving to cscs any of u guys have a idea what could cause it let me know asap as i have a wedding i have to go to on friday thanks

throttle position sensor? Haven’t had this on the 240 yet, but i had it happen years ago on a Chevy Lumina lol. Best bet is to take it to a reputable shop and have them take a look.

tps or maf. Try disconnecting the tps and running it to see if that helps. It helped on my caravan lol and narrowed down the search for problems. As we all know nissan mafs suck and that could be a possibilty also.

Check the voltage/resistance on your TPS using a multimeter. Heres a tutorial on how to test and adjust it.

ya its when i put it under load and it smokes under the hood passenger side
