I do 95% of the work on my cars… only things I don’t do I either don’t have the equipment to (tires, alignment, machining, etc); am not in the mood to f-with; or have been unable to due to physical reasons (I had knee surgery this year, and need to have another next year); and 2 outta 3 of those I just call Don to do them… 😉

Cars are not some over complicated thing.The only thing I won’t do is. Rebuild engines,transmission,and rear ends.I know enough about them to do it.I have a.d.d and no patients. I would much rather pay someone to do that stuff.I do not work on cars for a living anymore.I just sell them things they do not need.Especially elderly old woman. Stupid bitches.

I COULD easily do everything myself, but i’d rather go to work for an hour and pay a pro to do most things than spend 4 hours on a DIY.

agreed,I used to do everything, now i just dont have the time and motivation, although there are few people I trust with a car I depend on everyday, large repairs I’ll leave to a trusted mechanic, but I cant ever bring myself to take the car to valvoline,delta sonic Ext and let those brain surgeons service my car for simple things.

Once you find yourself a good mechanic that you know you can trust and is reasonable on his rates, DIY just isn’t all that appealing.

I tried to take choices 2 and 3.
Somethings I’d rather just let someone else do. Wheel bearings in a 11 year old car. No thanks! That’s someone else’s headache.
